Our Vision
Compassionate. Culturally Attuned. Community-Focused.
Talk Changes is a grassroots mental health organisation based in Greater Manchester and Blackburn, committed to making counselling and emotional wellbeing support accessible, inclusive, and culturally responsive.
We provide trauma-informed counselling, community-based wellbeing programmes, and professional CPD training across schools, faith settings, and community organisations.
Our work is grounded in three core principles:
- Accessibility – Reducing stigma and increasing early access to support
- Cultural Attunement – Understanding the lived realities of diverse communities
- Professional Excellence – Delivering ethically grounded, evidence-based care
We believe mental health support should meet people where they are, emotionally, culturally, and spiritually.
Our mission
We are a group of professionals that want to help those that are in need. With over 20 years of experience, we understand that we are all connected – connected by emotion, experience and communication.
Mental Health is on the rise and with 1 in 4 people in the UK experiencing mental health problems, we need to raise awareness. We want to help the community and organisations alike by bringing awareness of the importance of mental health and by playing our part in alleviating mental illness wherever we can.
At Talk Changes, we strongly believe that our journey starts with a simple conversation; empowering the community one conversation at a time where everyone can have a voice
Our impact
Through partnerships with schools, community organisations, NHS and faith institutions, we deliver early intervention support that strengthens emotional resilience, improves communication, and builds safer environments for young people and families.
We are proud to support underserved communities and work collaboratively to create lasting change.
Trainee & Volunteer Counsellors
As part of our commitment to nurturing the next generation of therapists, we also welcome trainee counsellors who are currently undertaking Level 4+ training and are on placement with us. Under close supervision and guidance, our trainees offer valuable support to clients while developing their professional skills.
They bring fresh perspectives, enthusiasm, and a strong dedication to learning, all within a safe and ethically managed environment.
